Not A Simple Wish--A Star

They're precious pinpoints of flickering light
in the black and lonely night.
They are magnificent in their flight.
And have a silent might.

When observed with higher power,
or during a mighty rock shower,
They blossom as a flower,
And turn your lost sweet from sour.

Their companion is the lifeless moon,
and they're observed with joy, in the midst of June.
A host will even form a spoon;
but to their power, no one is immune.

They are the grasp-less giants
who have given many a sailor guidance.
O! they cannot be bought with a sixpence,
But will forever shine with everlasting brilliance.

So now do you know what you desire?
To even dare to acquire?
A wish from those dressed in fire;
From you? Who will but soon expire.

Instead you should simply gaze in childlike wonder:
At those who's grace is without number.

Musical Delight

Here is a shape poem I wrote. If you cannot quite read it here are the words in plain text:

TWANG! go the strings as the musician plays the song we all sing along. And beg him to play yet another. Of course he obliges. We all burst out in unison as he plays as hard as his hands will let the notes ring out. There is no doubt about how this instrument is actually alive in his hands.

Yahweh

.                            Yahweh
. He is our solace
.                    The beginning and end of all bliss
.               The only thing we truly miss--
.                                                        Lover.
. A lamb and a lion to all
. He'll catch you when you fall
.And dry those eyes when you ball--
.                                 Tear-catcher.
.The source of all light
. Some say He be too bright
. He's the calm in the night--
.       Star-maker.
. But yet, He is beyond compare
. All we can do is--slack-jaw--stare
. And hope we will be there--
. Forever.
